Do photovoltaics work with pre-pay meters

I have a pay as you go meter, will solar panels still work or do I have to change my meter?

It would be a problem if you ran out of credit and the electricity cuts out, the inverter would also cut out.

If investing in a photovoltaic system, I would advise changing back from a pre-pay meter to a standard meter, just contact your electricity supplier.

We’ve installed onto a pre-pay meter without any issues.

However I would advise them to seek to get it changed to a standard meter as they will be paying over the odds per kilowatt. Unless they are on pre-pay from credit rating issues there should be no problems.

Once that is done I’d advise to shop around for better deals.

A better way.
