Germany’s PV solar panel story

Wednesday, October 28th, 2015

If you live on a windy hill, it’s crazy not to have the wind generate power.

PV solar panel costs and prices.

Similarly, on a sunny planet, it’s crazy not to have the sun generate power.

40% of Germany’s power output is produced with PV solar panels.

It’s common sense that’ll project solar panel adoption forward.

A northern European country with a similar type of climate as us. (more…)

PV solar panels are healthy

Monday, October 12th, 2015

Installing photovoltaic solar panels is important today, as safe drinking water was in earlier history.

Because I want my grandchildren to know granny did something.

In the 1920s, all drinking water began to be disinfected with chlorine.

This single act of sanitation brought the rising populations that gave us the modern world.

A defining moment in time.

Early cars, water-chlorination, and PV solar panels were too.

The people in those old black and white films would never have understood the consequence that clean drinking water would have on the future. (more…)

PV solar panels in the United Kingdom

Tuesday, October 6th, 2015

Solar heating panels were the most popular technology until the generation tariff.

The beauty with PV.

This export tariff brought PV solar panels to the forefront.

The PV industry has grown to surpass its solar heating sibling.

How the world changes in such a short period.

This was brought on by the North Sea oil fields peaking and the golden age of cheap energy being over.

Even Margaret Thatcher recognised its limited potential and lifespan.

Luckily, my resolve to continue on my solar-powered journey remained. (more…)

PV solar panels in the UK?

Friday, September 11th, 2015

A common misconception of PV solar panels is they don’t work well in the UK.

PV solar panels effectiveness in the UK.

Yes, they do work and work brilliantly.

Actually, solar panels run less efficiently in hot climates.

You don’t even have to take my word for it, as now over700.000 PV systems installed in Scotland alone.

The annual UK solar radiation figures are:

Scotland: 900-1000 kWh per sqm.
Midlands: 1000-1200 kWh per sqm.
South coast: 1100-1300 kWh per sqm.

Then there are countless solar heating panel installations installed too.

The PV export tariff led to over a million [photovoltaic installations at this time of writing.

Solar heating panels were popular in the UK before then. (more…)

Self-generating with PV solar panels

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015

The UK government’s efforts to kill off the PV (photovoltaic) solar industry were unsuccessful.

Why buy PV solar panels in the UK?

Deliberate cuts to support PV solar adoption were to take away power from the people.

Literally, handing it back to lobbying big energy firms!

We’re finding that there were never any long-term strategies.

Those cheap toasters from China came with a huge price tag! (more…)

PV solar panels and civilisation

Wednesday, August 19th, 2015

The oil industry will be nothing more than a niche lubrication industry.

PV solar panel costs and prices.

Baby steps towards this worldview have already begun.

Wrestling that power from a belligerent toddler is necessary, but a painful procedure.

That pain will be felt at the petrol station and in household energy expenditure!
